This week it’s leg yield in walk.
Remember to listen with one headphone in so your horse doesn’t hear the clip-clopping of my horse and get excited!
Leg yield is great for suppleness, engagement and self-carriage.
The aids for leg yield are:
Move both your hands slightly to the direction you’re going.
Make sure your horse is moving away from the direction of the bend - so if you are going to the right your horse is flexed to the left.
The inside leg asks the horse to yield to the side away from the leg.
The outside leg asks the horse to continue forward, maintaining straightness and keeping the rhythm.
